Not enough progress on foodborne disease, says WHO

Country capacity for surveillance of foodborne diseases has improved slightly but remains off target, according to WHO.

The World Health Organization (WHO) provided an update on progress made relating to the Global Strategy for Food Safety at the 79th World Health Assembly.

Data shows that despite a gradual improvement in the surveillance of foodborne diseases and food contamination, at the current rate targets will not be reached.
