Supply and Price Report for South Florida, Mexico, and Offshore for week of 4/9/2023

Starting with slicer cucumbers, green squash, corn, and tomatoes; we are seeing ample supply in both South Florida and Mexico. Volume is currently low on peppers due to decreased production in both growing regions resulting in quality that may be inconsistent. The market for hot peppers is slowly improving but the availability of Serrano, Shishito, and Anaheim is presently scarce. Tomatoes are abundant across all shipping points.

Offshore melons continue to be tight due to limited supplies through the rest of this season until the desert transition begins in May. With Holy Week in Mexico coming up soon there could potentially be lighter border crossing volumes next week which may affect orders loading into Monday or Tuesday; Our team is trying to minimize any potential shortages caused by this event.

Early transition stages from Yuma to Salinas have started with unstable supplies forecasted on many wet veg items during transition period. Please continue to exercise caution when placing orders as conditions can change quickly at this stage of the process.
