Subway Officially Up For Sale

Subway, the quick-service chain, is reportedly up for sale as Doctor’s Associates, Inc. prepares to conduct a sales exploration process. Despite this development, the company surpassed sales expectations in 2022, with same-store sales rising by 9% and 29% when compared to 2021 and 2020, respectively.

Globally, Subway operates around 37,000 restaurants in over 100 countries, with approximately 20,000 in North America, its largest market. The company has been upgrading its menu and enhancing its customer interactions, including the introduction of its “Eat Fresh Refresh” program in 2021.

In 2022, Subway outlined plans to expand its non-traditional business segment into convenience stores and casinos through its Grab and Go platform.
