PepsiCo Approaches Its DE&I Goals, Reaching 44% Gender Parity in Management in 2022

PepsiCo, Inc. has made significant progress toward its gender parity and managerial representation goals, according to the company’s latest Global DE&I Annual Report. The initiatives support the PepsiCo Positive (pep+) program, which aims to create a more sustainable future for people and the planet.

The company is on track to reach its target of women filling 50% of its management roles globally by 2025 — this percentage reached 44% in 2022, up from 43% in 2021. In the U.K., this goal was completed two years ahead of schedule, thanks to an award-winning Strategies for Success coaching and personal development program and other successful initiatives.

PepsiCo has also nearly accomplished its goal of increasing U.S. Black and Hispanic managerial representation to 10% by 2025, which reflects the workforce availability where PepsiCo operates. Black representation reached 9.0% in 2022, up from 8.3% the previous year, and Hispanic representation already surpassed the goal, coming in at 10.1% last year.

Alongside these efforts, the company continues to maintain pay equity, reporting that men and women are currently paid within 1% of each other, as are people of color compared to non-minorities.

And this year, PepsiCo celebrated a milestone in its Supplier Diversity Program — 40 years after the program’s inception, the company has invested almost $30 billion across its entire value chain to support diverse-owned businesses.

“Our rich legacy of DE&I serves as a compass that guides our actions, and this year’s report is a testament to our continued evolution,” said Tina Bigalke, PepsiCo’s Global Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer. “While there’s more work to be done, we remain committed to our journey and to harnessing the power and passion of the changemakers in this report — all of whom are united in their efforts to build a more equitable workplace and society.”
