Partial list of retailers that sold Boar’s Head deli meats linked to outbreak now available

The California Department of Health and some retail grocery chains have reported what stores have sold Boar’s Head deli meats linked to a deadly outbreak of Listeria infections.

The outbreak has sickened at least 57 people across 18 states. Nine people have died, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Boar’s Head has recalled more than 7 million pounds of deli meats in relation to the outbreak. A comprehensive list of retailers that sold the meats is not yet available from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, but some retail chains and the California Department of Health have put together partial lists.

In California, which has the fifth largest economy in the world, retailers include Albertson’s Pavilions, Sprouts, Safeway and Vons, in addition to numerous small chains and independent delis, according to a report from eFoodAlert.

The list of all retail outlets in California can be found here. Elsewhere, consumers must rely on supermarket recall notices. The following is a list of supermarket chains that have posted notices on their websites. Other chains and individual stores have not yet posted recall notices.
