Frito-Lay opened a new $16 million distribution center in Scott Depot, WV earlier this week. The facility is 70,000 square feet and will be a key distribution point in their supply chain.
This center is four times larger than their previous facility in Poca, WV. Snacks will be made and packaged in Charlotte, Wooster, and Lynchburg and then shipped to Scott Depot. From there, they will be distributed to retail partners.
Frito-Lay and PepsiCo employ almost 700 people in the state of West Virginia. According to Laura Maxwell, Senior VP of Supply Chain for PepsiCo Foods North America, “Frito-Lay has a storied history in West Virginia, having been present in this great state for more than 40 years. Today, we’re proud to celebrate the next chapter as we open our new, $16 million distribution center right here in Scott Depot. The impact of this state-of-the-art facility cannot be overstated and we are endlessly thankful to our state and local government officials, community partners and more than 100 dedicated associates who made this day possible.”
