Shrek is a movie, but it is also a lifestyle. In the 23 years since the film’s release, there have been numerous sequels, a musical, a festival (RIP, Shrekfest), and a bottomless swamp of merchandise beloved by both the chronically online and Al Pacino. Shrek is the great unifier, and today, we behold its staying power in sandwich maker form:
The concept is simple: You love Shrek, and you want him on your bread. The Mike Myers-voiced ogre was goblincore before goblincore; he was the first peddler of a wonderfully obnoxious shade of green (Shrek green walked so that Brat green could run) that continues to find adoration in meme-centric internet culture. Naturally, there is a nonstick sandwich maker paying homage to his legacy. And naturally, I want it.
